Project44, a supply chain visibility software provider, is undergoing a strategic reorganization by separating into two distinct companies to better serve distinct market segments. The original Project44 will continue focusing on shippers, while a newly created entity called LSP44 will cater specifically to logistics service providers. According to CEO Jett McCandless, the company determined that the operational requirements and client needs of these two customer categories had grown sufficiently complex to warrant dedicated platforms and business units.

McCandless indicated that the decision to bifurcate the company stemmed from a fundamental desire to win in the highly competitive logistics technology space. By aligning each business unit with its core customer base, Project44 aims to develop more tailored solutions that address the unique challenges faced by shippers on one side and third-party logistics providers on the other. The separation allows both entities to invest more deeply in features and services most relevant to their respective audiences.

This structural change reflects a broader industry trend in which software vendors are narrowing their focus to achieve greater product-market fit. By creating specialized divisions rather than attempting to serve both customer segments under a single platform, Project44 is positioning both companies for more targeted growth and deeper customer relationships within their respective niches.
