The City of Woodstock has appointed Chief Steve Lester as its new deputy fire chief, according to 11Alive Atlanta. Lester brings significant experience from the Atlanta metro area, having most recently served as division chief of training with Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services, one of the region's largest fire departments.
Lester's background in fire service training positions him well to oversee operational standards and personnel development within the Woodstock Fire Department. His tenure in Cobb County, a neighboring jurisdiction in the greater Atlanta area, provides him with familiarity with regional best practices and emergency response protocols that serve the northern suburbs.
The appointment reflects Woodstock's continued investment in professional leadership as the Cherokee County city manages growth and public safety demands. As the Atlanta metro expands northward, departments like Woodstock's must maintain staffing levels and operational excellence to serve an increasingly populated area.
