According to FreightWaves, China Southern Cargo has agreed to lease three aircraft from AerCap's newly launched Boeing 777-300 passenger-to-freighter conversion initiative. The lease commitment represents an expansion of the carrier's cargo capacity as demand for air freight services continues to shape fleet modernization decisions across Asia-Pacific carriers.
The agreement underscores growing interest in converted passenger aircraft as a cost-effective alternative to building dedicated freighters.
