The Decide DeKalb Development Authority has greenlit a $588,168 Urban Renewal Fund grant to support the city of Brookhaven's design phase for a pedestrian bridge spanning Interstate 85. According to SaportaReport, the project aims to create a critical connection between Executive Park—a major commercial corridor in the northeast Atlanta metro—and the Peachtree Creek Greenway, a key regional recreational and transportation asset.
The grant, drawn from the Briarcliff North Druid Hills Tax Allocation District, reflects ongoing investment in improving walkability and connectivity across DeKalb County. For Atlanta-area business leaders, the project signals continued municipal focus on infrastructure that enhances property values and attracts talent to the region's thriving commercial districts.
Once completed, the pedestrian bridge is expected to facilitate better pedestrian access between employment centers and green space, potentially boosting foot traffic to nearby commercial establishments and improving quality-of-life factors that influence business recruitment and retention in the metro Atlanta area.
